FanExpo - Am I Still a Fan?

So yesterday we went to the opening day of FanExpo 2017 and I am still resting my feet afterwards, I may be getting too old for this. We loved going, and seeing all the fans of anime, video games, comics and cosplay. If you can not tell by the name of the website, but I am a fan of tabletop/board games and here are my thoughts for this years FanExpo.

Events

Layout

This is where FanExpo does lack a little bit, but I can not tell if it is their fault or because of the building desgin, but they do have some rooms to play board games and RPG’s there where you can pick up a game and play but these seems out of the way and pushed back. Tucked away on a floor that can be easily missed with signs that are almost hard to see, you can not be blamed for saying “there are no board games here.” Unless you are looking specifically for them and have read up on the attractions, you will miss them.

Vendors

There was a few booths that sold some games, but we could not find one booth that sold games equal to or less than our local stores. Most of the board game booths sold their games 10-15 percent of what we would see in our stores. With that being said, we did see a booth or two worth our time. We purchased a few games that are new to the gaming scene and we will be reviewing them in the future (So look forward to that).

Conclusion

Now with all that being said, we had a great time. Sadly, due to other constraints we could only go the one day and hope that you all reading this will and did have a good time here this year. If you enjoy Board Games it is a good place to be but we find it is not the best but if you enjoy other things such as Anime, Comic books, meeting your celebrities or paying a god awful price for a "Mystery Box" then FanExpo is the place for you! But if you only enjoy tabletop and board games, maybe not your place. There are other places we can suggest (Links below) that may be something to be interest. Just go into FanExpo with a grain of salt and do some research before you go.

Here are some other local Con's we suggest going to and hope to see you at!
