Lord of War Games and Hobbies is a hobby store based in Oakville and it is the city’s premier location to get your hobby needs whether it is more models, paints, tools, gaming aids, and board games. When you walk in through the doors you are often greeted by friendly staff that are very knowledgeable in the products that they offer. But how does the store shape up? Let’s find out.

When it comes to gaming events Lords of War delivers. They offer gaming events daily that can be found on our events Calendar. They also host frequent Miniatures game tournaments that often bring together a strong community for a day of gaming. They have a good gaming space with several tables in their main area for playing miniature games as well as additional space used when they need to accommodate a larger crowd. The store has parking in the front and some parking in the back with 1 hour time limit. Overall the store is great, well thought out layout to maximize their space.

All though it may have been a one-time thing they have also hosted airbrushing classes to teach you the ins and outs of airbrushing. This was offered by a company called CK Studios that Lords of War hosted. Although I was not able to attend I hope the store host events like this again as it is a great community builder that helps people learn new skills or hone existing ones. That being said the staff at the store are talented artists that can help you with your airbrushing needs.

Gaming is not the only thing they offer with their space. At the back of the store they also have tables so people can engage in their hobbies. This includes paint station which upon looking around the store you notice is an important aspect of this community. The staff at this store are very talented artist who have both had their miniatures featured on the Warhammer Community website. Their painting is stunning and I would recommend going to the store to check out their models on display. These guys are very friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to the hobby which is very important to store experience.

Now I know I have talked about the events, space and staff, but what about the product? The product selection is great. They hold many different miniature ranges such as Warhammer, X wing, Malefaux, Frostgrave and Infinity. They also have a lot of different terrain option for your table, paint ranges and great airbrushes. Their selection is great! If you cannot find the product on their shelves just ask the staff because they can always put in an order for the product you want provided their distributors can get it. They also have a varied board game selection. Lords of War does not disappoint in the pricing department or the options of product available.

The Break Down

What makes this store so great is the Staff and the Events. They are one of the best locations in the Oakville area and we look forward to spending more time at their shop.

Would I come back? If I lived closer to the store I could see it as a hangout spot. The shopping and gaming experience is defiantly great here and the painted armies on display are a sight to be seen.
